Assessment / grading training at SimFlying is always customized. If available, please send your briefing pack in advance to info@simflying.nl so that the instructor can prepare himself properly. Dealing with emergencies/failures is an important part of an assessment. You will be assessed on your CRM skills, leadership, situational awareness, solution orientation and decision-making skills. Therefore, the training consists of at least:
Briefing (approximately 30 minutes)
737NG Cockpit Familiarization (MIP, MCP, NAVAIDS, Radios, Throttle Quadrant)
PFD (Primary Flight Display) and ND (Navigation Display) – compass rose APP/VOR modes familiarization
Pitch & Power and Flapsetting briefing
Sim training (1.5h to 3h)
- General Handling exercises – Raw data climbing, descending, steep turns, throttle handling and scanning techniques
- Briefings, prepare, organize, execute (using Lido, Jepessen or your own assessment briefing package)
- SID, briefing and performance (SOPs, timing and handling)
- Approach/landing & go-around profile/SOP briefings (different by airline)
- Holdings – holding entries – NDB work, QDR/QDM tracking
- Raw data ILS & landing techniques, performance factors
- Go-around procedure, handling event density
- Emergency handling, DODAR decision-making tools and NITS cabin crew briefing exercises
- Workload handling and CRM
- Situational awareness, position fixing exercise, short- and long-term planning
