Start your airline career with the APS-MCC from SimFlying

The APS-MCC (Airline Pilot Standards – Multi-Crew Cooperation) training is a training program defined by EASA that prepares pilots for operations in a multi-crew airline environment. SimFlying's APS-MCC training aligns directly with this and translates these requirements into a practical, realistic training focusing on airline operations, cooperation, and decision-making. During the training, you will learn, among other things:

  • Operating in a multi-crew Airbus A320 cockpit according to airline SOPs;
  • Applying Threat & Error Management (TEM) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) in daily operations;
  • Flying a jet aircraft in line-oriented flight training (LOFT) scenarios;
  • Acting adequately in normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.

SimFlying is currently undergoing the certification process to offer APS-MCC training under EASA regulations. The first training is expected to take place this summer.

What does the APS-MCC look like?

  • Self study
    Prior to the training, you prepare through self-study. You will become familiar with the Airbus A320, airline SOPs, basic principles of multi-crew operations, and relevant theoretical concepts such as CRM and TEM.
  • Ground school
    During ground school, we deepen the theory and link it to practice. You work on procedures, cockpit workflow, and scenario thinking in preparation for the simulator training.
  • Simulator training
    In the simulator, you apply everything in realistic scenarios. You train multi-crew cooperation, decision-making, and jet aircraft handling in normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.

  • PPL(A), preferably CPL(A)
  • ATPL theory
  • English Language Proficiency (ICAO Level 4 or higher)
  • EASA Class 1 Medical

For questions about the admission requirements, please feel free to contact us.

1. Intake interview
During this no-obligation and free intake interview, we get to know each other, and there is ample opportunity to ask any necessary questions.

2. Confirm registration & deposit
If you wish to register definitively after this, we will send you the training agreement and request a deposit of 15% of the total amount. Once we have received this payment and the agreement from you, your place in the relevant course will be definitively reserved. You will then also receive the study materials in advance.

3. Full payment
Payment of the remaining amount (85%) must be transferred at least 3 weeks prior to the first day of the basic school.

4. Introduction Day & Start of Self-Study
Two weeks prior to the ground school, we hold an online introductory afternoon to explain the course. We will outline what we expect from you and what you can expect from us.
After this, you will begin self-study to start the intensive course as well prepared as possible. The expected time investment for self-study is approximately 60 hours.

5. Start course
You will start the course together with your classmates and will be finished within three weeks on average.

A class starts every month. For the specific dates, see the registration form for the intake interview.

Upon successful completion, you will receive an APS-MCC certificate in accordance with EASA AMC2 FCL.735.A. This certificate is required by an increasing number of airlines, as it demonstrates that you have been trained according to airline standards and possess the necessary multi-crew competencies.

FAQ

In a traditional MCC course, the focus is primarily on Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC). Aspects such as airline procedures and jet handling are typically covered only to a limited extent.

The APS-MCC training takes this a step further. In addition to collaboration and communication, the emphasis is on realistic airline operations, the application of SOPs, and training jet aircraft handling within scenario-based (LOFT) training. Furthermore, the APS-MCC training includes significantly more simulator hours, giving you more time to build experience in a realistic environment.

Important!Many airlines require candidates to have completed an APS-MCC course. With only an MCC course, you usually do not meet the application requirements.

All course materials are in English. The training is conducted in English by default, unless the group is entirely Dutch-speaking.

SimFlying offers a discount of €500 pp when you register together with another participant for the same start date.

A class has a maximum of four participants. We do this to be able to offer as much personal guidance as possible.
