More and more, the term Plug & Play is used by manufacturers. We can say for certain though, that getting all the hardware and software to work together properly is no easy task. Even when buying a brand new, ’turnkey’ cockpit, having the right technical knowledge & experience is essential.
The same goes for maintenance issues. It is true that modern simulators generally require low maintenance, however every now and time, something will break. From non-critical items such as a backlighting panel, to critical items such as a part of the flight controls.
